Colliding Cells

Colliding Cells is a sound exploration based on the interaction between algorithmic computation and digital synthesis. The system transforms John Conway's Game of Life into a complex auditory ecosystem where each cycle generates deterministic rhythmic and timbral structures, but with organic unpredictability.

The work is inspired by the chiptune aesthetic, which I explored in depth in my master's thesis, to celebrate the rawness and coldness of pure digital sounds. This patch has served as a generative engine for various pieces and improvisations, notably 2^2500, a work selected for the international exhibition Glitch Art Brazil 2025
